Juan Dario Hernandez aka “Twelv”

ImportsNC: So Twelv, when did you originally get into the car scene and what started your interest?

Twelv: Since I can remember, I was always fond of expensive cars, and I always wanted to have my own and modify it but I was too broke. I grew up poor and in the projects, and owning a car at that time was a status symbol. If you had enough money to drive a particular car that meant you weren't just sitting at home doing nothing. I had a canorous voice inside my head telling me to strive for the best, achieve, because second best means that you are a first place loser.

INC: Can you tell me a little about your current car projects?

T: The 350Z is meant to be a sleeper, a lil’ more power then the average Z on the road, but still stock looking to the untrained eye. The Altima is not really a project, more like my beater. It keeps pretty close tabs on the 350Z rear bumper if you know what I mean. I just wanted it to stand out from the other Altimas on the road. Now the S2000 is my TOY. I really don't know if I want to make it a pure SHOW car or a pure TRACK/RACE car. All I know is which ever route I go I am going all out.

INC: Must be nice to building 3 custom cars, what made you decide 3 and not concentrate on maybe just 2 beauties.

T: That is easy I AM RICH!! No I am kidding! It was matter of being at the right place at the right time I got the Z new for under $27,000 and the S2K for very cheap and the Altima is my every day car. Any ways, why not do it big if you ARE going to do it, right?

INC: I wish I could lol, I just spend big money on college.

T: I am glad I wish you luck.

INC: So what’s your favorite mod to date and why?

T: WOW that is a tough question! When I painted my Altima.

INC: Paint>supercharger??

T: Yes…Want me to explain?

INC: YES

T: Supercharger is power, yes I can do 0-60 in under 5 seconds, but how many times do you really drive the car like that. DON'T answer that.

INC: I’m never able to drive that fast! Cept that time I drove a V12 Vanquish, but that’s another story

T: Now paint, you see that 24/7. It is always there no matter what I do, no matter if it is parked.

INC: Yea but you can’t see it if you inside?

T: I can see YOU looking at my car breaking your neck. WTF was that?! That car is the HOTNESS! I like to be flashy but I also like Speed

INC: What kinds of events can we normally find you at?

T: Shows, drag strips, home behind the computer working on my book, at the gym trying to get my bench up to 315 from 275. I have many hobbies way too many to list.

INC: Working on your book?? Care to elaborate.

T: How do you think I pay for my cars? I like to keep my privacy so I use a pen name but I am working on my first REAL book I mostly write short stories. Funny thing is I am a horrible speller and my grammar sucks but people seem to love my stories.

INC: Wow thats awesome

T: Not really. I just type and the story comes out. Funny like some demon lives in me and takes over my body and types these stories out. I use to rap to.

INC: Have you ever thought about writing as a journalist for a car magazine?

T: No but I did think about opening a site, lame man’s car review, simple and plain way to look at cars like edmunds.com. Another hobby I have is test driving cars ask me about a car I have probably driven it.

INC: So what do you have planned for the future?

T: Let's see as of 12:02AM today, 375rwhp S2000 C/F hood, trunk, tanno cover, wing, front lip, engine dressing, door panels and a-pillar. The Z is in the shop getting a new intake, headers, and cat-back. The S2000 in the car port on car jack awaiting springs

INC: Dang I guess we are gonna need to revisit with you in the future, but for now... here’s your chance to give any shout outs to friends and family.

T: Got give love to my wife first because without her I would not be here with all these toys, she actually tells me to buy some things (within our budget). Also to INC for having me and making me part of their family. Except Ryan he still owes me like 200 bucks! JK.
