    Default The official track thread.

Steez gets the credit for this idea, props to him for suggesting it.

This thread is basically an ongoing schedule for the small minority of us that actually track/race/DRIVE our cars. It's purpose is to allow us to keep track of who's going to what event and allow us to hang out/stalk each other at aforementioned track days. We might as well go as a group.

My first event this season is February 21st on a Sunday. It will take place at VIR's Patriot Course, and essentially it's an autocross/time trial event that counts towards double points in NASA's Mid Atlantic Autocross series. The event is very cheap for NASA members (80 bucks) and gets you plenty of seat time and pretty much guarantees a good standing in the Autox series if you care about it. https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1021 A large group of my friends go, it's sort of an informal Lightning Lap for us.

After that I will be either doing an HPDE with NASA or PCA. I'll definitely being going to CMP and VIR, possibly Summit Point... You can find more information on schedules and where my friends and I are gonna be here: Road Course/Track - NC Track Car

my first one of the year will be the biggest for me.. our NAGTROC/ Forged Performance 2nd annual GT-R day at VIR full course Feb 22nd right now we have 25 GT-Rs attending and will probably get to 30.

by the event after that i think im just doing autocross until the summer then a circuit cross then maybe another NAGTROC event in the fall somewhere semi local to NC/SC/VA

Sounds good Luke. You know I'll be there doing coverage and such. I'd like to see Hayden take the Subaru out to a CMP track day sometime this year

There are many many dates I'm considering; however the event that takes place is ITR Expo 10 which just got tentatively announced for Aug 23/24 (track is still keep under secrecy) once that gets announced you have to have cash ready to roll so they can secure the event so it's a bit different from NASA or something of the sort.

But here are the ones that are currently strong possibilities

Feb 19-21, VIR Full (might be too close now) w/ NASA Mid Atlantic
March 25-26-27, VIR Full (backup for above date) w/ NASA Mid Atlantic
May 1-2, CMP w/ NASA SE
Aug 24-25, TBD (hopefully Mid Ohio) w/ ITRCA
Sept 25-26, NCCAR w/ NASA SE (waiting for reviews from the April dates to see if it's worth a damn)

Summit Point and Road Atlanta are always possibilities but I haven't heard any chatter, I'd love to do the Glen too but that's practically a truck & trailer distance.

NASA-SE is holding an event at North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) in April. It's located off 95 near VA...pretty cheap also. Looks like a drift track to me

i had planned on doing Circuitcross and HPDE in Feb @ VIR but i don't think my car will be ready, so i signed up to work that event.

I'd like to find just a laid back track day at VIR or something to run on one day. Maybe with an instructor on board to help me learn the track.

cmp is fun, vir is a spoiler, dont go there unless you want a new favorite track.

if i go to vir again, im deffinalty going turbo rather than all motor, that long straigh away can be fun if i can go 160

I plan on running all the TSCC autocrosses this year. I will be at the Circuit Cross and I will try to squeeze in a few NASA HPDE's if I'm lucky.

Make CMP your first track, plenty of run off room and really no elevation changes.

Yeah and April and Sept date with NASA-SE, I'm going to wait to see what the April people said about it I think. However, it is only $199 for two days hmmmmm. Oh and one catch, on saturday it's clockwise and sunday it's counterclockwise.

Oh and I should mention that NASA MA is having a "hyperdrive" session at the FEB VIR date, instead of paying $359 for two full days and many many sessions you pay $50 for one classroom session and one track session w/ instructor.

They do this because once you actually get out there you won't be a hellafrush queer anymore.

I opt we-rename this thread to "Raleigh Photoshoot/Dyno Day/Hardpark/Drifting Event" so it gets some attention in this shithole.
