Project quest....

I did have plans for a nasty build, instead I have decided just to get it back on the road asap.....I'm basically just goin to rebuild it and have everything setup except for the MPi setup...that will have to come once i have some money saved up....

but heres some pics and stuff of when i first got it...





after 16g, open downpipe, arp head studs and a few other mods the car put down 245hp/317tq.....

I blacked out the windows, lowered it on some cheap coilover springs, did little stuff here and there. car was really fun, and I miss it......





the cars now sitting with no motor after it spun a rod bearing and the head gasket blew......I'm in the process of getting something back together, just waiting for money....I=broke

got the front mount mounted, will have the bumper back on soon...also working on the interior, gotta mount the drivers seat and get all the interior together once i get some gauges and a few other goodies, possibly doing a cage

I'm just slowly but surely getting everything right.....I have already done a ton of body work and stuff on the car, it was pretty rusy when i got it.....its going to be all satin/flat black until i can afford a decent paint job when the cars running and all the body works done

just figured i'd go ahead and get this thread started since a few people have been asking me about it


UPDATE!
I have the sparcos mounted
Block cleaned/painted
main bearings changed
Balance shaft elimination kit done
oil pump back on and ready to go
oil pan has been removed of rust/corrosion and painted
BOV flange getting welded today
I'm getting stoked on this, I have everything for the bottom end ready, gaskets/rings/bearings/seals.....just gotta wait on the head work.....I've got enough work to keep me busy for a long while though! Some pics =)

I just put the hood pins on it last week, since my hood latch didnt work anyways, haha

should be ordering a full rebuild kit this week! should have the bottom end back together in a few weeks, and then send the head off.....car should be running in a few months

anyone know where to get a turbo rebuilt at??

Did you order your Rebuild Kit from DAD? I got all my Stuff From him and everthing is working out fine.

have you thought about engine management yet? Cant go wrong with Mega Squirt, its reliable, and cheap.


BUt it sucks to see another quest down. Hope you get her back on the road as soon as possible



And iirc i might have a bare not jet head laying around....ill see if i can locate it

shpquest: I'm gunna be going megasquirt!! and as far IC piping idk, I have so much stuff taken off it would be a lot different for you! my headlights are mounted up with the motors removed, and holes cut for the piping.

and i'm getting the rebuild stuff all from dad!! enginemachineservice FTW!! haha

and the car is going to be tbi for a little bit until i have some money saved up....i'm getting a custom intake manifold made for it when its ready, but thats a long ways off!!

I'll be running like 10Psi on a precision 60-1 until I swap over to mpi!!

yea you cant go wrong with dad, OEM FTW. And he stands behind everything that he sells. You will be happy with the MS and the MPI. The only 2 weak points of this engine is the TBI and the Pistons. The rods and crank itself are forged. And lordy these things are t/q monsters. Big displacement and a long stroke is to thank for that
