i do really feel bad for the guy but at the same time i wouldnt use this story to judge how weak or strong the VR engine is. you can blow up any car when you get into tuning if you get over your head and make a mistake. thats why im running a stock ECU and if i ever chose to tune i would use someone whos proven like forged performance to work on mine

also it was nissan of the middle east who voided this has nothing to do with anything thats going on here in the US. i bet 60-70% of everyone in the owners club has some sort of COBB tune and we have some hardcore tuners that have made some absolute monsters.



some of the timeattack cars we sponsor have been tuned and really beat on and they run like off the showroom floor.

weve got a 1000 wheel horsepower rebuild on the way from a car that famously blew a motor on the drag strip. that thing with a stock block held up like a champ to almost 700hp meth injected with nitrous and finally blew the bottom out when he hit it with a 150 shot mid shift trying to break a 1/4 record.

yeah i know im just saying it took a beating and its not weak , not saying the VR is better or worse than another engine 9especially the tuff muscle cars) just that its not fragile. i think this case probably has something to do with the tuning, the knock sensors either being disabled or not kicking in and the damn thing blew

the GT-R is a piece of shit and shouldnt even be sold on to the public. The design is HORRIBLE! i dont care what 1 or 2 people have been able to do while STILL breaking parts in the process over 50% of these cars cant even handle the stock power. the harmonics or the engine are awful and the reliability doesnt exist.

if i wanted to blow up 100,000 dollar i wouldnt give it to nissan and let them laugh while i do it.

saying these cars can handle 10% power increase over stock is pathetic too. making 500 crank hp stock and adding 100 hp makes it go boom everytime.

i feel sorry for the ones caught up in this mess and believing in nissans piss poor quality and management,

the 350z was a big enough of a money pit failure

misinformation is funny.... i see everything that goes on in the GTR tuning aftermarket everyday for a living we are gonna have about 30 of them at VIR in 2 weeks probably 80% will be tuned and 50% considerably modded out there running all day
