Although I am typically not a Benz fan, the new Mecredes SL65 AMG Black Series nearly snatched my eyes out of my head when I picked up this months Road and Track. I think it is one of the most well put-together streetable replications of a track car that I have ever seen. While most are tacky and mis-matched, the AMG looks like a well thought out, purpose built design. I've always liked th lines of the SL series but this monster takes the cake. With the ridiculously agressive lines blended with some smooth curves (not to mentioin 661HP and 736ftlbs to back it up) has boosted this ride to a rank within my favorite cars that few German autos have ever reached. Lets see what pics, info, and vids you can dig up.
It's simply amazing, but I don't know about it being a good track car. The last black series SL was amazingly hard to control or even get traction with apparently =( They are really beautiful though.
What I'm wondering is why would someone buy an SLR over this? Isn't this more powerful and a lot less $$$? I guess it's not quite as high-class but I wouldn't complain about having one =)
